GameSalad Inc. has announced a new “Free to Make” model for its “Basic” membership plan, enabling anyone to make their own iOS game without having to pay a fee.

[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]GameSalad is a game creation software platform that lets you publish to iOS, the Mac or the Web. The software doesn’t require prior programming knowledge to work, and has already been used to make a number of hit games already available in the App Store, such as Stunt Squirrels, Bumps, Doodle Destroy and more.

GameSalad Basic will let you publish to Mac OS X, a Web page or iOS; the company also offers an enhanced Pro package for $499 which adds support for iAds, promotional links and “priority” technical support.

The announcement was timed with the release of GameSalad 0.9.0 Beta, a new version of the GameSalad Creator technology. The new Creator has a redesigned dashboard interface and publishing wizard.
