MacTech Labs has put Microsoft Office 2011 – the latest incarnation of Microsoft’s productivity app suite for the Mac – through its paces and has published the results on its Web site and in its print publication. The results are spread over six pages, so there’s a lot of detail to review. But ultimately (and with a few exceptions) the results suggest that Office 2011 gains some significant performance boost over both 2008 and 2004 running on the same hardware.
“All of these items give users a great deal more ‘user speed’…and those are not the type of things that can be measured with a stopwatch. However, in many cases, you will see significant ‘user speed’ improvements, regardless.”
