After briefly removing the software update from its Web site Apple has re-posted Mac OS X Server 10.6.5.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Apple has corrected an issue with systems running Dovecot as a mail server, according to the security notes made available with the patch. All of the other changes made in the first Snow Leopard Server 10.6.5 release are still present.
“A memory aliasing issue in Dovecot’s handling of user names exists in Mac OS X Server v10.6.5 (10H574),” reads the security bulletin. “On systems configured with Dovecot as a mail server, a user may receive mail that was intended for other users. This issue is addressed through improved memory management. Dovecot is only provided with Mac OS X Server systems. This issue only affects systems running Mac OS X Server v10.6.5 (10H574). This issue does not affect the Dovecot open source project.”
Apple recommends the update for all servers currently running Snow Leopard Server.
