Virtual Programming has announced the release of Majesty 2 for the Macintosh. The game is now available for $39.95.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Majesty 2 is a “fantasy kingdom sim” – a real time strategy game – in which you rule the kingdom of Ardania. You recruit heroes to fight monsters as you seek to return Ardania to its former glory. But unlike other strategy games which require you to micromanage every aspect of play, the heroes you’ve recruited have a will of their own – you can direct and entice them, but ultimately they’ll decide for themselves what to do.
The game features 16 missions divided into four chapters, and includes “more than 10 different classes” of character to interact with. Multiplayer is supported for up to four players over a LAN or the Internet.
This is not the Majesty franchise’s first appearance on the Mac – long-time Mac gamers may remember that Majesty 2’s predecessor first made its appearance on the Mac almost a decade ago, published by MacPlay. This sequel was originally published for Windows by Paradox Interactive in late 2009.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.6.3 or later, Intel-based Mac operating at 2.16GHz or faster, 1GB RAM, GeForce 8600 or Radeon X1600 graphics or better with at least 128 VRAM and 1.5GB hard disk space. The game is rated 12 by PEGI and T for Teen by the ESRB.
