“Black Friday” is coming. November 26, 2010 – the day after the American Thanksgiving holiday – is typically one of the busiest retail sales days of the entire year. And if BlackFriday.com’s predictions are correct, the iPad will be the most sought-after gift this year.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]BlackFriday.com surveyed “hundreds of Black Friday shoppers” in a poll taken in October to gain insight about what U.S. consumers were planning to buy this holiday season. The iPad ranked first, the iPhone third, and the iPod touch eleventh.
Other popular items included Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Kinect peripheral, Sony HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc players, and HTC’s Droid smartphone.
Good news for the economy: Forty-two percent of those polled predicted that Black Friday 2010 sales would exceed 2009’s results. Fifty-nine percent of those polled planned to buy electronic devices, so it’s little wonder that the top fifteen list of the most sought after holiday presents was made up entirely of gadgets like the iPad and iPhone.
Unlike the Consumer Electronic Association’s recent poll, “Peace and Happiness” were nowhere to be found on BlackFriday.com’s list of sought-after items.
