Apple has reportedly purchased Wi-Gear, makers of bluetooth stereo headphones for the iPod and iPhone.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]According to 9to5Mac.com, Apple purchased the company about two months ago. Citing an unnamed source, the report says that Apple plans to build its own bluetooth headphones for iOS devices and MacBooks.
While the Wi-Gear website is still operational, the company has closed, according to a note on its website.
“Notice: Wi-Gear has ceased operations and is no longer in business. We will be unable to respond to any inquiries.”
