Apple CEO Steve Jobs promised a new way to interact with ads when it introduced its iAd program, but the company’s control may have caused it to lose a big client. [ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Citing information from two mobile industry executives, Business Insider reports that Adidas pulled its $10 million iAd campaign with Apple. Apparently the company decided to pull the ads after Apple rejected the creative concept for the third time.
This isn’t the first time Apple has been accused of trying to control the iAd program. In August, the WSJ said that Chanel had dropped its advertising program, even though it was one of Apple’s launch partners.
iAd is a unique platform that allows the user to interact with an ad without leaving the application. This differs from other ads that forces you to leave the current application after clicking on an ad and then return to what you were doing.
