FileMaker on Wednesday updated FileMaker Go for iPhone and FileMaker Go for iPad, adding several new features requested by users. Among the new features in FileMaker Go 1.1 is the ability to create PDFs from your database and save them on the device or email them to others. You can also save a copy of the database on your device and email it from the app.
Jon Sigler, FileMaker’s vice president of Product Management told The Loop that one of the most requested features from users was the ability to add photos to fields in FileMaker Go. With the new version, photos can be used from your library or taken with the iPhone camera and inserted into a field.
Importing records using script steps is now supported, as is a new option that requires users to login to a database after the device sleeps.
FileMaker Go 1.1 is available now as a free download for existing FileMaker Go users from the App Store. FileMaker Go for iPhone and iPod touch (running iOS 4) is $19.99 and FileMaker Go for iPad (running iOS 3.2) is $39.
