Apple is taking steps to help users solve one of the most difficult problems on the App Store — discovery. With over 200,000 apps in the App Store, sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming to find what you’re looking for. Sometimes that may be a brand new app, or even a better app than the one you’re currently using.

As of Friday, Apple added its Genius functionality to the iPad App Store, allowing users to easily find apps based on previous purchases. Genius will show you the app it is basing the recommendation on, its rating on the store, the price and an image.

Using Genius will not only help users, it will make the App Store better for Apple increasing developer revenues as well as its own.
