Apple on Tuesday launched its new Back-to-School offer: Buy a Mac and get a free 8GB iPod touch. The promotion runs through September 7.

The offer is available for current and incoming college students, along with faculty and staff at all education levels. It’s available at the Apple Online Store for Education, Apple retail stores, and any Apple-authorized campus store. All of those locations offer special educational pricing for students, faculty and staff at higher educational institutions.

According to the terms of the deal, you must purchase your Mac and the iPod touch at the same time; you then submit details to Apple for an online rebate within 90 days of the purchase. Apple then provides a rebate to cover the cost of the 8GB iPod touch.
