One of my favorite Mac developers, Daniel Jalkut, on Tuesday released MarsEdit 3.0, adding a number of new features for the blogging tool. Perhaps the biggest change in the new version is the addition of a rich text editor. This means that you can use the traditional HTML editor and keep an eye on any styled text, lists and other elements.
Another big change in 3.0 is the integration of iPhoto, Aperture and Lightroom. After choosing a photo, you can specify the size, name and alt text, all within the MarsEdit interface.
MarsEdit 3.0 also includes advanced syntax highlighting, which makes it a lot easier to find problems in the code.
There are a few additions for WordPress users too. You can now download, edit and create pages for WordPress blogs and you can configure custom fields in MarsEdit to customize the post editing interface.
MarsEdit 3.0 costs $39.95 and is available from the Red Sweater Web site.
