Fans of Missile Command, rejoice! Pangea Software, the long-time Mac and iPhone game maker, has announced the release of Warheads, a Missile Command-style action game for the iPhone and iPod touch priced at $1.

Incoming nuclear warheads are coming to destroy your cities, and you have to launch your own missiles to intercept them before they reach the ground. To do so you tap the screen where you want the missiles to go – you can also collect powerups to increase your capabilities, get more points and replenish your ammunition.

Warheads requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later, and users of faster systems like the iPhone 3GS and latest-model iPod touch will see faster 3D graphics.
