Universal Audio (UA) on Thursday said it has partnered with Manley Labs to bring the Massive Passive EQ plug-ins to users in the first quarter of 2010. UA will bring two versions of the plug-in to market — the standard version and the mastering version. The company said the Massive Passive represents the most ambitious EQ modeling project to date.

According to Universal Audio, the Massive Passive’s natural treatment of a signal lends itself to both radical tonal shaping as well as delicate vocal shading or subtle mastering enhancement.
