The NAMM trade show in Anaheim, Calif. is a great place to be for Mac using musicians and today’s announcement from IK Multimedia proves it. IK announced AmpliTube 3, a major upgrade to the company’s amp modeling and effects software. In addition to a new interface, AmpliTube 3 also has more gear for guitar and bass players.
AmpliTube 3 includes over 160 pieces of gear, according to IK. This includes 51 individual stompboxes and effects, 31 amplifier, preamp and power sections, 46 speaker cabinet models, 15 high-end stage and studio mics, and 17 post-amp rack effects.
The company also said that with its new architecture you can add other packages, Like AmpliTube Fender, as you need them. It’s not clear, but sounds like X-Gear may be built-in to the new AmpliTube.
AmpliTube 3 will ship in February 2010 and will cost $349. Crossgrades will cost $269 and upgrades will cost $199.
