Electronic Arts on Friday announced the release of Need for Speed Shift on the iPhone and iPod touch. The $10 game is available for purchase from the App Store.
The latest installment of EA’s long-running car racing game franchise, Need for Speed Shift puts you behind the wheel of real-world automobiles – high-performance cars like the BMW M3 GT2, the exotic Lamborghini Gallardo and more. Twenty different cars are included.
Need for Speed Shift includes 18 different tracks in locations spanning the world from Chicago to London to Tokyo. There are Quick Race and Career modes, and three different difficulty settings.
Features include local Wi-Fi and Bluetooth multiplayer gaming across half a dozen different racing modes, upgrades and customizations to your cars, with performance enhancements like nitrous boosts. The “Driver Profile” feature enables you to develop an in-game persona based on your skills, style, success rate, profile points and badges that you collect.
System requirements call for an iPhone or iPod touch running iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later.
