It’s been a busy day for Native Instruments (NI). The company on Wednesday released three new products for Mac using musicians. The first is Kontakt Player, NI’s free software instrument based on its Kontakt 3.5 sampler engine. Native Instruments said the new player works with all Kontakt formatted libraries, as well as all generations of third-party libraries.
Native Instruments also introduced the Maschine Drum Collection, a package of drum and percussion sounds for modern electronic and club music styles. The collection contains 20 full drum kits adapted from the factory library of Maschine. It’s available from the company’s store and costs $59 to download.
Finally, Native introduce Evolve Mutations, a new instrument the company is targeting to movie, TV and game composers. The library has 275 new instruments based on 2GB of sample material. Evolve Mutations is a Kontakt-powered instrument and costs $119 to download from the company’s store.
