Apparent has announced updates to its tiny Doxie portable scanner. The software update is available for free from the Doxie Web site.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]The $149 Doxie, which weighs a scant 10.9 ounces, is bus-powered, and scans in color at up to 600 dots per inch (DPI). It’s Mac OS X and Windows-compatible, and it will scan to local applications on your Mac or to the cloud, with support for Google Docs and more.
The update to Doxie’s software adds support for Mac OS X 10.7 “Lion.” It also adds the ability to scan documents to e-mail – Doxie can now compose e-mail using Apple’s Mail app, Outlook, Gmail and other software, with a link to scanned documents and photos.
What’s more, Doxie supports Yojimbo, the information organization software tool made by Bare Bones Software. Yojimbo helps you store notes, images, bookmarks, Web content and documents.
