Newer Technology has introduced a new 2 terabyte (TB) version of its MAXimus mini portable RAID hard disk drive. It costs $300.
The device sports four interfaces – FireWire 400, FireWire 800, USB 2.0 and external Serial ATA (eSATA), and provides 1TB of storage in a redundant RAID level 1 array or 2TB of striped performance in a RAID-0 array.
The drive requires no AC adapter – it works off of the power it gets from the bus interface it’s connected to. Newer offers other configurations starting at $180.
