Skype has announced the release of Skype 5.2 for Mac, a new version of its popular voice, video and chat software. The new update is available for download.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Skype 5.2 features group screen sharing. The screen sharing function previously only worked in one-on-one calls, but now works in group settings, enabling Skype users to view presentations, share photos and documents on each others’ screens.
An important note: the group sharing feature only works if at least one of the participants has a “Skype Premium” subscription, which costs extra.
Improved multitasking comes in the form of a change to the call control bar – you can now see the person you’re talking to, as well as hang up or mute.
Other changes include listing most active conversations under Recents in the sidebar and a new History section where you can see conversations that are less active.
