The judge hearing Apple’s lawsuit against Amazon over the use of the term “App Store” has indicated that Apple may face some hurdles.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]While no ruling was delivered today, District Judge Phyllis Hamilton said “Apple had a ‘stumbling block’ in proving that anyone would confuse Apple’s App Store for Amazon’s Appstore for Android,” according to Reuters.
Apple filed the lawsuit against Amazon in March. Apple said they “asked Amazon not to copy the App Store name because it will confuse and mislead customers,” but Amazon went ahead with the name anyway.
Amazon responded in late April calling the lawsuit baseless and said “App Store” was a generic term.
