If there’s one thing that sets Apple’s products apart from the competition, it’s the design. The man responsible for that is Jony Ive.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]One of Ive’s first jobs as a designer was to design a toilet. Clive Grinyer, the man who hired Ive at his design firm, said it was the presentation of the product, that drove Ive to Apple.
During the presentation, one of the people decided to show what a big shot he was and tore Ive’s design apart, according to the Mail Online. Grinyer said “it was ridiculous. Britain lost Jony Ive then and there.”
The company that Ive worked for was also hired by Apple to do some design work and after one trip, Ive stayed in California for good.
It wasn’t until Steve Jobs came back to Apple in 1997 that anyone really paid attention to Ive’s creations. Jobs gave Ive the tools he needed to create the products the two men envisioned for Apple.
Since then, Ive has designed several generations of iMacs, iPods, iPhones, and iPads, among other products.
