∞ MacTech conference planned for November

MacTech magazine has announced a technical conference planned for November 3 – 5, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. The event is aimed at IT professionals and Mac developers, and will include sessions and activities throughout the day and evening.

“With the holes created by C4, MacHack, and now WWDC, it was clear that it’s time to move forward with the MacTech Conference that so many have been asking us to do for years,” said Neil Ticktin, MacTech magazine’s publisher and editor in chief.

Apple has been criticized for overemphasizing iPhone OS development at this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), which kicks off Monday in San Francisco, Calif.

MacHack was a long-running independently operated annual Mac software developer event that took place in Michigan from 1986 through 2005.

C4 filled in the gap after MacHack stopped, running in Chicago from 2006 through 2009. The event’s creator, Jonathan Rentzsch, decided not to do C4 this year, because of what he cited as dissatisfaction with Apple and with Apple developers’ response to changes in the iPhone OS Software Development Kit (SDK) license.

MacTech has not yet identified a venue for the event and is yet to post more specific details, but has opened up a call for speakers that runs through June 18, 2010.
