FileMaker on Tuesday launched a free new Business Productivity Kit optimized for use with FileMaker Pro 11, the latest version of its popular database software for Mac OS X and Windows.

Two versions of the Business Productivity Kit have been developed Standard Edition, for companies selling goods, and Service Edition, for companies providing services. Both are available along with a 30-day trial download version of FileMaker Pro 11.

The Standard Edition lets you manage contacts and suppliers; organize products and inventory; process sales orders; track projects and production; and send targeted e-mails.

The Service Edition also helps you track clients and vendor contacts; process service orders, organize information about service offerings; manage invoices; and send e-mails.

As a bonus, FileMaker includes an e-mail marketing guide which offers tips on how to create customized e-mail campaigns.
