Super Monkey Ball 2: Sakura Edition is now available for the iPad for $9.99, according to developer Other Ocean Interactive. OOI collaborated with Sega of America to bring the game to the new Apple device.

Super Monkey Ball 2 is the latest iteration of Sega’s popular game in which you roll through mazes and participate in minigames using monkeys inside of large translucent balls. The game originated on the Nintendo Game Cube and has been a fixture on the iPhone and iPod touch almost since the App Store’s inception.

Now Sega and OOI have brought Super Monkey Ball 2 to the iPad in a special Sakura Edition. It’s especially priced at $9.99 until April 10, 2010, when it will return to its normal price of $12.99.

Super Monkey Ball 2: Sakura Edition gains enhancements over its iPhone counterpart, including better graphics and four new mini-games – Monkey Bowling, Monkey Target, Monkey Golf and Monkey Base, which is exclusive to the iPad. Monkey Base lets up to four players square off on a single iPad as they launch orbs at each other – the goal is to be the last monkey standing. What’s more, 10 iPad-exclusive levels have been added from the “Far East World.”
