∞ Gameloft adds eight iPad games

Gameloft on Friday announced the release of eight games for the iPad, all available from the App Store immediately.

Gameloft is offering titles already familiar to iPhone and iPod touch users: the first person shooters Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance (NOVA) and Modern Combat Sandstorm; the action role playing game Dungeon Hunter; the racing game Asphalt 5; the card game Uno; NFL 2010; Let’s Golf!; and Real Football 2010 (a soccer game).

Each game has been reworked to take advantage of the iPad, according to Gameloft – Real Football 2010 includes higher resolution grass surfaces, textures, characters and animations, while NOVA sports fully customizable buttons and mappings and Multi Target Acquisition – a new feature that lets players draw a grid on the battlefield to kill all enemies with a single shot.

Multiplayer support enablers users to gather friends on iPads and iPhones or iPod touches for local and online Wi-Fi multiplayer gameplay.

Gameloft indicated in announcing the new games that it has more than 900 developers dedicated to Apple platforms. The company now boasts 55 games for iPod touch and iPhone on the App Store, and more than 10 million paid downloads.
