Noby Noby Boy is now available for the iPhone. But fans of the PlayStation 3 game should heed this warning – Noby Noby Boy for iPhone, published by Namco Bandai, isn’t exactly the same thing. In fact, it’s categorized as a productivity app, and it’s priced at $1.99.
Noby Noby Boy is the creation of Keita Takahashi, creator of the Katamari Damacy series. The came out for PlayStation 3 in 2009, and follows the adventures of a worm-like pink creature (called, simply, Boy), which can stretch and move. Players accumulate points by maneuvering Boy around his environment. The game features playful, child-like graphics and bright colors, all trademarks of Takahashi’s games.
Noby Noby Boy for iPhone still features Boy, and he still stretches. But this isn’t an attempt to convert the original game to the iPhone. Instead, you interact with Boy in unusual ways, such as using his body as a notepad, stetching him using GPS coordinates, take screenshots and attach them to mail, compare how you’re doing with others connected via Facebook, and more.
Noby Noby Boy requires an iPhone or iPod touch running iPhone OS 3.1.2 or later.
