In addition to unveiling the next major version of Guitar Rig 4, Native Instruments (NI) also announced new versions of Kontakt 4, Absynth 5, and Komplete 6.
Kontakt 4
Kontakt 4, NI’s software sampler used for recording and live performances, will see the addition of the Authentic Expression Technology. According to Native Instruments, this technology enables the seamless transformation between the spectral characteristics of different sounds, achieved via a phase-corrected convolution technique based on FFT analysis of the original sample.
Kontakt also comes with a new sample technology, reducing sample sizes by up to 50 percent.
The sample library is being expanded to include a full-featured chamber choir collection, recorded exclusively for Kontakt 4. Other library additions include solo strings and a concert organ.
Kontakt 4 will be available in October and will cost $399. Upgrades from previous versions will cost $149.
Absynth 5
Absynth 5 is NI’s semi-modular software synthesizer. New in this version is a Supercomb Filter that opens up physical modeling-type sounds and a Cloud Filter that can add both subtle and drastic spectral modulations.
The new version also includes Aetherizer, a new algorithm that breaks up sound into microscopic particles and rearranges them in complex ways. Obviously, this will give you a variety of sound options that you couldn’t get without this type of technology.
Absynth 5 also introduces Mutator. This is an amazing sounding technology that allows you to choose specific attributes from the sound browser that they want to change the sound towards. The software then analyzes other presets related to these attributes, and adjusts the original patch to adapt the desired sound characteristic, according to the company.
The new version of Absynth will be available in October and costs $199. Upgrades will cost $79.
Komplete 6
Komplete is just what it sounds like — you get it all. Komplete 6 includes the latest versions of Kontakt 4, Absynth 5, Battery 3, FM8, Massive, Reaktor and Guitar Rig 4 Pro. Komplete also includes Elektrik Piano, which is in the Kontakt sample library.
Komplete 6 includes an assortment of 7,000 individual preset sounds based on 60GB of premium sample material.
Komplete 6 will be available in October and costs $559. An upgrade is available for $169.
